New Team Member Starts

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

We’re delighted to welcome our latest recruit to the team, Brendan Meade. Brendan joins the design team as interactive developer and comes with a wealth of experience in designing and building HTML/CSS/Flash and flex interfaces.

To celebrate his arrival, the team went bowling. Fortunately, Brendan is far better at building webpages than knocking down the pins, as he was (quite frankly) rubbish, incurring several fines as a result. Still, can’t be good at everything and he took his penalties like a man.

MBC4

MBC, the largest media broadcaster in the Middle East, has appointed Leftfield to create, deliver and manage iMatter, a social networking site for supporting the needs and voices of young women across the region.

MBC4 is the Arab world’s first ever channel exclusively for women. Broadcasting the latest in top-rated Western entertainment, like Oprah, Dr Phil and Friends, it is supported by iMatter – an online club that links up with more than 13,000 Arab women one-to-one. iMatter provides a unique opportunity, both online and in physical events/activities for ‘new’ Arabic women to use to express how they feel about issues and what they want to do about issues.

MBC 4 wants to capitalize on the sense of identity that women feel for IMatter and the momentum created.

FredOlsen Cruise Lines Logo

Scheduled for launch in Jan 2008, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines introduce their largest ship so far; The Balmoral. Leftfield Digital were appointed to create a new microsite to support the build up to this important event with a flash based site to bring the experience alive. The microsite enables the user to tour the ship through interactive deckplans, destination and itinerary sections, with DVD and photo galleries to bring the user as close to the experience of being aboard as possible.

Building a prospect database

To build awareness and engagement, two cruises aboard the Balmoral were offered as a free prize draw. Special promotional leaflets were distributed and users that entered the unique code provided were entered into the draw. Two lucky winners will win the cruises, and all non-winners are offered a £50 discount for spending onboard when they book their cruise. All users are given the opportunities to sign up for newsletters to build a strong prospect database for future contact.

Built specifically with future content additions in mind, the site will continue to be updated over time with additional images, video and other content to add even more to an already content rich experience.

Going up in the World….

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

This weekend Leftfield Digital (and our sister agency, Smarter Communications) have gone up in the World - literally - to the third floor of our current abode, Castlewood House. We’ve moved into brand spanking new office space, over twice the size of our current office bringing a plush new reception, lots of meeting areas, loads more working space and a really cool vibe!

In case you’re wondering, all of the usual contact details remain; same address, same telephone/fax numbers but just a short trip in the lift to the third floor. Bigger, better and the view from the boardroom (straight down Oxford Street) is just great. A quick reminder, we’re now at:

The only thing left to say is - “When are you coming over to check it out?”
