Leeds Metropolitan Student Union appoint Leftfield
Thursday, December 20th, 2007Leftfield Digital has been appointed by Leeds Metropolitan Student Union (LMSU) to revamp their online presence with the deployment of a new Leftfield CMS site. The deployment will replace the existing content management platform.
The main reason behind the move to Leftfield CMS was driven by ease of use; the existing platform was considered too complex to maintain without technical support, and the fast moving nature and frequent updates required to the site content had led to the current website not being sufficiently maintained. This in turn had lead to students abandoning the site as a reference point for the Union and University.
With simple controls and a powerful feature set, Leftfield CMS will enable LMSU to re-engage students, streamline their administration processes and create a new channel to communicate with over 50,000 full and part time students. Future additions to the site are planned for Q2 2008, including a commerce function to manage merchandise and event ticketing activities, with a LMSU social networking area to support the students and the many social and sporting societies.
The new CMS site is planned to go live in Jan 2008.
