Leeds Metropolitan Student Union appoint Leftfield

Leeds Metropolitan Student Union

Leftfield Digital has been appointed by Leeds Metropolitan Student Union (LMSU) to revamp their online presence with the deployment of a new Leftfield CMS site. The deployment will replace the existing content management platform.

The main reason behind the move to Leftfield CMS was driven by ease of use; the existing platform was considered too complex to maintain without technical support, and the fast moving nature and frequent updates required to the site content had led to the current website not being sufficiently maintained. This in turn had lead to students abandoning the site as a reference point for the Union and University.

With simple controls and a powerful feature set, Leftfield CMS will enable LMSU to re-engage students, streamline their administration processes and create a new channel to communicate with over 50,000 full and part time students. Future additions to the site are planned for Q2 2008, including a commerce function to manage merchandise and event ticketing activities, with a LMSU social networking area to support the students and the many social and sporting societies.

The new CMS site is planned to go live in Jan 2008.

Smarter Communications get a new website and blog

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Well, being our sister agency we could hardly refuse, could we? So our good friends at Smarter Communications are the recipients of a lovely new website and blog from Leftfield.

Showcasing their TV and press work, their people and awards, the site is designed to demonstrate that as one of the UK’s leading full service advertising agencies, media and creative work better together.

A key challenge of the brief was deciding the most effective way of visually communicating this basic proposition. So, dear reader I guess it’s over to you. Have we succeeded? Take a look at the site, decide for yourself and then post a comment to let us know what you think.
